Ingredients

- 2 inches fresh turmeric root
- 2 inches fresh ginger root
- 2 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Wash and peel the turmeric and ginger root. Slice them into smaller pieces.
- Place the turmeric and ginger pieces into a blender with 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, discarding the pulp.
- Add honey (or brown sugar) and lemon juice to the strained mixture, stirring until dissolved.
- If desired, add more water to reach your preferred dilution.
- Serve warm or chilled. If serving warm, gently heat without boiling.
- Pour into glasses and enjoy your homemade Jamu.
Notes
For a low-calorie version, replace honey with stevia. Experiment with spices like cinnamon for unique flavors.
